Baracuta Jackets are one of Britain’s greatest contributions to menswear. The G9 is THE original harrington jacket, much copied but the definitive is only made by Baracuta.

The first-ever harrington jacket was created by Baracuta founders John & Isaac Miller in 1937. One year later the brothers were given permission by the Fraser Clan chief, the 24th Lord Lovat at Beaufort Castle to use the, now iconic, Fraser Tartan in the lining. Until today, the G9 Original Harrington Jacket is still made to the exact same measurements & is still lined with the Original Fraser Tartan.

The G9 earned the nickname Harrington because it was worn by the character Rodney Harrington (played by Ryan ONeal) in the 1950s television programme Peyton Place. Elvis Presley then popularised the G9 when he wore it in his 1958 movie ‘King Creole’ and Frank Sinatra wore his G9 in 1966 move ‘Assault on a Queen’. Of course the ‘king of cool’ Steve McQueen, was also an avid fan of the G9 and was photographed wearing it on the front cover of Life Magazine and in his 1968 movie ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’.

Until today, Baracuta continues dressing icons & legends and has strong links in the music industry with Liam Gallagher, Blur stars Damon Albarn & Graham Coxon, Razorlight, Jamie T and Pete Doherty all donning the famous G9 Harrington Jacket in recent times.
